Whether your dog is playful, sensitive, elderly, anxious, high-energy, or just prefers human companionship we create an environment where they can truly settle, feel safe, and be understood. Because boarding should never feel stressful.

ABOUT US 

Home Sweet Paws was created after years of working inside traditional dog boarding and daycare facilities and realizing there had to be a better way.

I spent many years working in and managing a busy boarding facility. During that time, I learned the ins and outs of dog behavior, group dynamics, stress signals, and safety protocols. I also witnessed something that never sat right with me:

  • Anxious dogs pacing and searching for an exit

  • Overstimulated environments leading to reactivity

  • Dog fights and preventable injuries

  • Elderly or fearful dogs overwhelmed in large groups

Many owners never see that side of boarding.

I knew there had to be another option — one built around calm structure, not quantity.

Home Sweet Paws is that option.

We are a family business just me, my husband, and our two boys. No rotating staff. No strangers your dog has to constantly adjust to. Just consistent, gentle, experienced care.

We have years of hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Anxious dogs tend to warm up to me quickly, and even dogs who “don’t like men” often form fast bonds with my husband — something our past Rover guests have lovingly pointed out time and time again.

We are patient.
We are observant.

And we take your dog’s emotional wellbeing seriously.

OUR APPROACH

Morning

  • Potty break

  • Calm play or movement

Breakfast

  • Fed separately in individual rooms

  • Followed by essential rest time to allow digestion and reduce risk of bloat

Midday

  • Small, compatible playgroups OR one-on-one time

  • Enrichment games

  • Agility activities (for dogs who enjoy it)

  • Fetch or interactive play based on individual preference

Afternoon Rest

  • Decompression and reset time

Evening

  • Calm interaction

  • Snuggles

  • Wind-down before bedtime

We never force dogs into playgroups.
We never mix small dogs with large dogs.
Groups are always separated by size and temperament.

If a dog prefers human connection over dog interaction, we honor that.

DAILY UPDATES

We know how hard it is to leave your dog.

That’s why we send daily photos and videos as many as you’d like.

You will see your dog playing, resting, engaging, and settling in. We believe transparency builds trust.
